Under
a new law from the 1st December 2003 drivers who use their
mobile phone whilst driving will be fined £30 on the spot, in
England police are issuing warnings for the initial two months,
but this will not be the case in Scotland. If the case goes to
court, the fine rises to a maximum of £1000. There are also
plans to make the offence endorsable, so drivers could get three
points on their license. However, it is considered that using a
hands free kit will lessen the risks when using a mobile phone
whilst driving. For further information
